A hunt is underway for a gang of 12 who reportedly racked up a pub bill of £260 and ran off without paying.

The bill dodgers were seen at the Britannia Inn in Par, Cornwall on Saturday (October 28), chowing down on steak and 10 pints between 2pm and 4pm. And while the waitress had gone to get their bill, they made a quick dash for the exit door.

The bill came to a whopping total of £260.50, which consisted of six bottles of fruit shoot, 10 bottles of Stella beer, two Pepsi Max, two large beef lasagne, one giant 10oz rump steak, six children's' meals and four bottles of Madri Excepcional lager. Taking to Facebook to find the culprits, which were all captured on CCTV, the pub said: “These 12 people dined with us between 2-4pm today and walked out without paying. No mistake, calculated and proven by full camera coverage.

“We have reported this to the police, however if anyone recognises any of these people or has any information that would lead us to finding them, please please get in contact with us. It will remain confidential. Reward available for successful finding of these scammers!”

And in a further update, the pub bosses claimed to have found the names of the family, and have given them until tomorrow morning (Friday, November 3) to “come forward” before they present the police with the names . . . and make them public on social media.

Speaking to MailOnline, a staff member explained how the group got away so far. They said: “When the waitress came back they were all gone. They looked as if they were taking kids to the play area in the garden but they just left.

“They didn't order the largest or most expensive meals or anything that would raise a red flag, some of the kids shared meals. They weren't rude or anything but the CCTV just shows them deliberately getting up and going. They watched and waited for our staff to exit the room for 45 seconds before all running out the door.”

Devon and Cornwall Police have been contacted for comment.
