Woman dodges Final Destination death as swimming pool smashes through car window

A lucky woman dodged a Final Destination-typed death after a swimming pool fixed to a trailer came flying off and went through her car windshield.

Ambulance crews arrived after 12pm on Tuesday (December 12) to a six-car pile-up in Waroona, Australia, that miraculously left no one with major injuries.

One relieved woman couldn't believe her luck when she told police she “dodged” the swimming pool flying towards her.

“She could see what was going to happen so she ducked for cover and when she looked up there was a steel rod through the screen exactly where her face would have been, so very close for her,” Sgt Keith Tarver from Waroona police said.

Pictures shared by Perth Now show that the incident was almost reminiscent of Final Destination 2’s log scene, where the entire cast is brutally killed in a deadly multi-car logging accident.

But, unlike in the movie, of the ten drivers involved in the accident only two were taken to hospital and two were assessed at the scene by paramedics.

The driver of the car towing the pool was treated for shock.

“It would appear that just a bit further down on the bridge there may have been a wide load or a heavy load which had slowed to cross that bridge which has caused the inevitable backlog of other vehicles,” Sgt Tarver said.

“It would appear that the truck driver may not have responded quite as quickly as he ought, he’s tried to avoid a collision by changing lanes, and he’s clipped one car causing some minor damage.

“The trailer has then smashed into the back of the pilot vehicle for the swimming pool, forcing it into the back of the swimming pool, (which) has come through the windscreen."
