Ukrainian T-64BV hits T-72B3 at close range
Video reveals the moment a Ukrainian tank annihilated its Russian counterpart from just yards away.
The footage, shared by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, purports to show a Ukrainian T-64BV tank from the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade just across a hedgerow from an enemy Russian T-72B3 tank.
Ukraine’s MoD said in a tweet: “A tank duel. A Ukrainian T-64BV knocked down the occupiers’ T-72B3 at close range.”
The video begins with smoke drifting over the Russian tank which does not appear to be damaged. Seconds later it erupts in flames when the Ukrainian armour fires again, this time hitting its target.
Shortly afterwards, Ukraine’s tank fires another round, finishing the enemy armour off before reversing.

Although the precise location of the video is unknown, the close-quarter tank battle highlights the intense combat which has erupted in the south and east of the country.
Earlier today, it was reported that Ukrainian Stryker and Marder armoured vehicles had broken through Russian lines west of the town of Verbove.
The village lies east of the recently recaptured settlement of Robotyne, where Ukraine is attempting to widen a breach in Russia’s deep defensive positions.
Elsewhere in the country, Ukrainian forces recaptured the important towns of Klishchiivka and Andriivka near Bakhmut.
