Liz Truss has been mocked by a Liberal Democrats’ song inspired by the Daily Star’s lettuce.
Party members belted out the track ‘Lettuce Liz’, set to the tune of The Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’, at their annual Glee Club karaoke do. Hundreds of Lib Dem conference attendees sang the song last night which savages her for lasting only 44 days in office. Her rotten tenure led our Lizzie Lettuce to easily outlast the flop politician.
The tune, included in the Lib Dem’s Liberator Song Book, has the lines: “Lettuce Liz, Lettuce Liz, Lettuce Liz, Lettuce Liz, Outlasted by a Lettuce, Lettuce Liz.”

Sir Ed Davey said it was a “rite of passage” for Lib Dem leaders to face members voting against them at conference as he spoke after the overwhelming defeat.
Helen Morgan MP had urged members to reject the amendment, calling for a “radical departure from the orthodoxy” of national targets.
