Gunman opens fire on shopping centre killing three people before wrestled by cop

    Chaotic footage appears to show people fleeing from a possible active shooter in a shopping centre with three people feard to have been killed.

    Screams and loud bangs were heard in the chilling clips, as people pour out the doors of the Siam Paragon shopping centre in Bangkok, Thailand. Police have confirmed a shooting incident in the centre with Police Major General Nakarin Sukonthawit, Commander of Metropolitan Police District 6, understood to have informed local outlet The Stanard.

    As well as three deaths, two more people are understood to have been injured in the attack, with a suspect having now been arrested. Dramatic images posted on X appearing to show someone on the ground being arrested were accompanied by the caption: "The perpetrator has been arrested. He surrendered his gun. 3 dead, 2 injured. 1 of the dead was a pharmacist".

    Footage has been shared on social media platform X showing various angles of the panicking crowds, with some inside the mall screaming as loud bangs ring out. Some supposed witnesses report that the centre has been closed.

    One unverified source posted on the social media platform: "There were shots fired in the men's restroom next to the Louis Vuitton store in Paragon. Many shots were fired. Many people were injured. We and many others were stuck in the restroom."

    Other reports have claimed that the Bangkok Skytrain Siam Station has been closed in response to the incident.

    Another unverified account on X said via Google: "Someone shot someone in Paragon!!! I'm hiding in a cos store. Every store has closed its doors and they're all dead."

    Police at the Metropolitan Police Station (Pathumwan Police Station) are understood to be working to evacuate people who were in the shopping mall at the time of the attack. The force has warned people to steer clear of the area until officials have given the all clear.

    According to a report from The Standard, the shooter is believed to still be in the area. Unverified stills claim to show a possible shooter wearing camouflage trousers.

    Officials are yet to make clear whether anyone has been hurt in the incident.
