Israel has warned everyone in Gaza City that they have “24 hours to get out” before “we unleash hell”.
The warning, the final one after a series of others were issued over the last five days, comes as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been contemplating starting a ground invasion to “wipe out” the Hamas terror group. “This evacuation is for your own safety,” the Israeli military said, in a warning it said was sent directly to Gaza City civilians.
The army claimed that Hamas – the group proscribed a terror group in the UK in 2021 – were hiding in tunnels under the city, and has, on many occasions, found tunnel systems leading from Gaza into Israel filled with weapons and more.

Despite the warning, Hamas has claimed that it is “fake propaganda” and has called on Palestinians “not to fall for it”. It also comes on the same day that Hamas leaders called for a “Global Jihad”, meaning that followers of the group are called on to attack and kill Jews around the world, prompting several Jewish schools in the United Kingdom and elsewhere to close for the day.
Despite all of this, the call to leave has been slammed by many, with the UN calling it “impossible”. Many have also called on Egypt to re-open the border on the other size of Gaza, but it has so far refused to do so.

“The United Nations considers it impossible for such a movement to take place without devastating humanitarian consequences,” UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said. “The United Nations strongly appeals for any such order, if confirmed, to be rescinded avoiding what could transform what is already a tragedy into a calamitous situation.

Last night, before the warning was given, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had a phone call with Netanyahu. A spokesman for Downing Street said that Mr Sunak “reiterated that the UK stands side by side with Israel in fighting terror” and that Hamas should “never again be able to perpetrate atrocities against the Israeli people”.
He added: “Noting that Hamas has enmeshed itself in the civilian population in Gaza, the Prime Minister said it was important to take all possible measures to protect ordinary Palestinians and facilitate humanitarian aid.”

Putin demands 'women and kids' be spared by Hamas and Israel – despite Ukraine war crimes
This morning on Sky News Defence Secretary Grant Shapps was asked about schools in London closing due to safety concerns and if that relates to a specific threat.
Mr Shapps said: “Well there’s obviously broader threats, not specific, including some of the absolutely disgusting material we have seen from Hamas who are a terrorist organisation who threaten people all the time.”
He added: “So this is really to do with the security of the community, and the Jewish community itself taking decisions. The Government has stepped in with further money in order to work with the community.”
