Nissan has revealed its future product plan for the Indian market. The carmaker plans to launch five new models, including two SUVs, one MPV and an entry-level EV.
Nissan is gearing up to enter the heavily contested mid-size SUV space with two models based on the all-new Renault Duster. The 5-seater version will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. A 3-row version is also said to be in the works and it will compete with 7-seater SUVs like the Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari.
The MPV in question is said to be a rebadged version of the Renault Triber. It will be positioned below the Magnite and will offer a cheaper alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Kia Carens.
Nissan is also working on an entry-level EV based on the CMF-AEV platform. It could compete with the Tata Tiago.ev. Renault’s version of the small EV is also said to be on the cards.
The fifth product that Nissan has lined up for the Indian market is the refreshed Magnite. The Magnite facelift is expected to get a few cosmetic changes and new features. It is expected to be launched sometime next year.
