Drivers can stop their car windscreen from becoming foggy this autumn and winter with a simple £2 hack, according to experts.
The tip uses two common household items which can be purchased from most major supermarkets.
Specialists at Leasing Options claim that pouring cat litter into a pair of tights may help soak up excess moisture.
The method could shave minutes off motorists’ morning routines as they will not need to go through the arduous process of cleaning condensation off the windscreen and windows.
Motorists can purchase a large bag of litter for just over £2 at Asda making this one of the most affordable tips.

The experts explained: “Cat litter pellets are designed to absorb pet excretions, but Leasing Options swore by using this to absorb moisture in the air, too.
“You can use this in your car by putting fresh cat litter in a pair of tights, tying them securely and then adding them to your windscreen and rear window shelf to soak up any occurring moisture overnight. You can then remove these in the morning, without having the hassle to demist the car.
“You can buy a 10kg bag of cat litter for as little as £2.19, you might have some extra pairs of tights or knee highs lying around you no longer need, if not a cheap pair will work perfectly.”
The homemade solution should be set up the night before a drop in temperatures as it helps to prevent moisture build-up rather than clear existing mist.

Confused.com said the properties of cat litter made it a perfect solution to absorb water vapour and prevent fog.
They commented: “You could also try stuffing an old pair of tights or socks with cat litter.
“Given that cat litter is designed to absorb moisture and unwanted smells, it could actually be a cost-effective way of stopping condensation.”
The Weather Channel also urged road users to put a sock filled with cat litter to “stop the fog from forming”
In a special winter hacks video, experts at the weather specialists explained why glass steams up on cold mornings and evenings.
They said: “Ever come out to the car in the morning and you have fog on the window on the inside of the car where the windshield wipers can’t remove it, it’s very frustrating.
“How does that happen in the first place? Well; the day before you’re singing along to the radio, you’re drinking a coffee, you’re talking to your friends, all of that is adding moisture into the air inside the car.
“Then you park it overnight and the temperature drops and you basically form a cloud in the car and those little water drops accumulate on the front windshield.”
