According to a media report, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that the company will offer a “mod package” to its Cybertruck owners. This new package will turn the Cybertruck into a boat, allowing it to traverse 100 metres of water.

Musk doubled down on the claim, stating that with the Cybertruck being an off-road vehicle, the electric pickup should be able to cross water bodies as well. The aim for the “mod package” is to be capable of crossing the water between SpaceX’s Starbase & South Padre Island, which is about 360 metres.

Lars Moravy, VP of Engineering at Tesla, stated that Cybertruck owners will be able to connect an outboard electric motor at the rear of the truck, turning it into a boat. “We are going to offer a mod package that enables Cybertruck to traverse at least 100m of water as a boat. Mostly just need to upgrade cabin door seals,” he said.

However, both Moravy & Musk didn’t mention any other details or a timeline for its availability.
