A small village in England has worked its way into the spotlight after visitors enamoured with its quaint and quirky charm likened it to a Christmas card.<\/p>\n

Postling, in Kent, boasts a vast expanse of untouched beauty that is perfect for long and quiet excursions in nature.<\/p>\n

According to its visitors, the spot feels like stepping into a storybook, flaunting cast iron white signs with names of nearby villages at street corners.<\/p>\n

Short of pubs and shops to entertain, the\u00a0town is little-visited by UK travellers. Its unmatched quietness is the main draw for many travellers, however.<\/p>\n

Picture-perfect streets are also bound to charm visitors\u00a0with their neatly trimmed hedges and well-maintained houses.<\/p>\n

Visitors often take note of the abundance of \u201clittle cottages\u201d in the vicinity, with many delighted to find an iconic red telephone box there too.<\/p>\n

The village, which is pronounced like \u2018post\u2019 as opposed to \u2018lost\u2019, houses a mere 200 residents.<\/p>\n

During the warmer months, fields quickly fill with cows and sheep. There\u2019s also a 12th-century church, St Mary and St Radund, which houses medieval wall paintings.<\/p>\n

Although there are no pubs on the visits, The Gatekeeping in Etchinghill, is located around 1.5 miles away from the village, on Canterbury Road.<\/p>\n

The building dates back to 1595 and offers hearty Sunday roasts. It happens to be dog-friendly too. It has four out of five stars from 421 reviews on TripAdvisor, where it was crowned a Trvellers\u2019 choice in 2023.<\/p>\n

The latest review, dating back to October, reads: \u201cLovely lunch. Tasty homemade food. Great service and atmosphere. All credit where it\u2019s due. Was busy so would advise booking.”<\/p>\n

Another review read: \u201cGood spot for walkers, we parked at the beginning of the old railway line in Peene, lovely walk there of about 40 mins, picked blackberries on the way back.<\/p>\n

\u201cFood was good, service a bit flowy. The outside terrace is nice.\u201d<\/p>\n
