{"id":122348,"date":"2023-12-14T12:51:43","date_gmt":"2023-12-14T12:51:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cottontailsonline.com\/?p=122348"},"modified":"2023-12-14T12:51:43","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T12:51:43","slug":"penny-mordaunt-ridicules-snp-with-mock-version-of-christmas-carol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cottontailsonline.com\/politics\/penny-mordaunt-ridicules-snp-with-mock-version-of-christmas-carol\/","title":{"rendered":"Penny Mordaunt ridicules SNP with mock version of Christmas carol"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Penny Mordaunt mocks SNP with &#8216;Twelve Day of Christmas&#8217; poem<\/h3>\n<p>Penny Mordaunt ridiculed the SNP with a mock version of the carol The Twelve Day of Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>The Commons Leader took aim at the nationalist party&#8217;s record in Scotland as she reeled off a series of blows such as the police probe into its finances and eye-watering roaming charges racked up by an SNP minister on his Holyrood-issued iPad.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Mordaunt was responding to her SNP counterpart Deirdre Brock who asked about &#8220;morality&#8221; during business questions.<\/p>\n<p>She told MPs: &#8220;I think we should have a festive round-up on SNP morality: 12 hours of police questioning, 11-grand roaming charges, 10 years without school inspections, nine sham embassies, eight years of poor child mental health, seven years without ferries, six years shirking welfare powers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><b>Click here to join our Whatsapp community to be the first to receive politics news from The Express<\/b><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/139\/590x\/secondary\/Penny-Mordaunt-5115362.jpg?r=1702556997017\"><\/p>\n<p>To the tune of &#8220;five gold rings&#8221;, the Portsmouth North MP added: &#8220;\u00a3500 million overspent on Edinburgh&#8217;s tram.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;\u00a34 million to install a heat pump, three high-profile arrests, two overseas jollies, and a dodgy Jaguar EV.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ms Mordaunt added: &#8220;I thank her.
