A lawyer is dealing with more than 10 victims among “thousands” of Brits chasing justice after crashes with US military staff.

Radd Seiger, representing the latest victim, nurse Elizabeth Donowho, has demanded action to “stem the river of blood flowing on the roads outside US bases”.

His call came after the driver involved, Isaac Calderon, fled the UK days before he was due in court.

Authorities are working to have him return to Worcestershire to face a charge of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

West Mercia Police are claimed to have told Elizabeth that the 22-year-old was working on matters “that might come under the Official Secrets Act”.

Elizabeth said she was unable to walk for six weeks following the crash that left her with a fractured sternum and two broken ankles.

Mr Seiger represents the family of Harry Dunn, 19, killed when he was hit by US spy Anne Sacoolas, who was driving on the wrong side of the road in 2019. She fled the UK using diplomatic immunity, sparking a transatlantic row that saw the Americans later refuse an extradition request to hand her over.

Mr Seiger said: “As has now become clear, Harry Dunn was by no means the first victim of terrible American driving, nor tragically has he been the last.

“It is an absolute scandal. HM Coroner for Northamptonshire has assured Harry’s family she will be addressing these issues at Harry’s inquest in 2024.”

The lawyer told how he’d been made aware of dozens more accidents since representing Harry’s parents. “Sadly, there have been thousands since the Americans have been here, and this has all come to light since Harry died,” Mr Seiger said.
