A psycho mum with a long history of attacking police officers, shopkeepers, nurses has walked free from court after assaulting two prison officers.

Sarah Jagger, 37, who calls herself “Sexy Sarah” on social media, beat up a female warden and mauled another while she was serving time for hurling hot water at a hospital care manager who she threatened to kill.

Warrington Magistrates Court heard that Jagger, who is believed to have two kids, had a “raft” of mental health issues and nearly 30 offences on her criminal record – including a staggering 14 for assault.

But she escaped being sent down again by magistrates who said they believed there was a “realistic prospect” of her rehabilitation.

In the first of the two latest incidents, prison officer Chloe Armstrong was left with a tennis ball-sized lump on her head after she was punched and kicked repeatedly by Jagger at Styal women's jail in Cheshire on July 26, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Andy Page, prosecuting, said that when Miss Armstrong went into the cell with Jagger’s lunch, “the defendant punched and hit her multiple times and kicked her”. He added that as the officer stepped out of the cell, “Miss Jagger followed her and continued to punch and kick her”.

Miss Armstrong was left with “a large tennis ball-sized lump on the right side of her forehead”. He added: “The right side of her face was swollen. She had bruising to her right eye and scratches to the left side of her neck.”

Jagger was transferred to Foston Hall women's jail in Derbyshire, but there she bit the leg of officer Katie Mellors, who’d intervened in a fight between Jagger and another inmate called Donna.

When told to let go of the officer’s leg, Jagger – from Harpurhey, Greater Manchester – tightened her grip.

Jagger’s upper and lower teeth left a mark on Miss Mellors’ leg and she was given treatment, including injections for hepatitis B and tetanus.

In mitigation, Jonathan Keane said: “She does have mental health issues but is supported by a substantial number of medical staff in the community. She is actively willing to engage with rehabilitation. That will mean that there is a realistic prospect of rehabilitation.”

She could have been given a year behind bars after she admitted the two charges of assault, but she was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity. She was also ordered to pay £75 compensation to Miss Armstrong and £200 to Miss Mellors.

Chairman of the bench Robin Bradshaw told her: “We have taken into account your record for multiple assaults but also your mental health issues and also your prompt guilty plea.

“In our view these assaults are serious and the custody threshold has been passed, but given the support you have and the realistic prospect of rehabilitation, we are going to suspend the sentence. It is really up to you. There are a lot of people out there to help you. It is down to you to accept that help.”

Jagger was initially convicted of battery in 2007, and since then she has been convicted of a string of nasty assaults.

In 2017 she was being treated in hospital when she grabbed a nurse and kneed her in the head as she was being given medication. Another nurse tried to help but she was kneed and kicked to her side, before Jagger threw a monitor and mobile phone at a third member of staff.

Two months later she was nicked again after she punched a female police officer in the face and a male officer in the chest as they were detaining her for shoplifting at Debenhams.

And last May she was banged up for 13 months after she launched an unprovoked attack on a female NHS manager at North Manchester General Hospital. During that incident, she made a “claw” with her hand and hit her victim’s face, telling her: “I’ll take your eyes out.”
