This breathtaking European city makes visitors feel as though they are stepping back in time with its historic charm and character.<\/p>\n

As well as being a poignant place to pay respect to those who lost their lives for our freedom, Ypres, in Belgium, has a wealth of ways to spend your time.<\/p>\n

And it is only a two hour train journey from London on the Eurostar.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe \u2018City of Peace\u2019 still commemorates these events daily, at the In Flanders Fields Museum and under its Menin Gate memorial.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNight after night, the Last Post sounds in tribute to the soldiers who fell, ensuring that we never forget this war.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are many ways to remember the fallen – including the In Flanders Fields museum, a daily Last Post ceremony and a truly sobering 27 monuments and cemeteries.<\/p>\n

The city – also known as Ieper in the Flemish tongue – includes many other points of interest too, such as a historic moat, which now is a haven for wildlife, theme park Bellewaerde Park and a stunning market square which has an array of restaurants and eateries.<\/p>\n
