A man bought two ducks as pets and now takes them everywhere with him, including the pub and his medieval battle reenactments.

Mark Colyer said he could not image life without his pet ducks, named Dog and Goldie. The feathered pals are said to follow him everywhere and live with him on his boat in Gillingham Marina, Kent.

Mark biggest passion is reenactments and enjoys playing medieval historical characters in his spare time. He is often dressed as Robin Hood and King John during these and many say he puts his ducks on his shoulders as if they were parrots.

The ex-navy tug worker also brings them to the pub with him and lets them enjoy a bit of his order. He said: "I do let them have a little swig of my beer, but that's it because alcohol isn't good for them – but I don't want them to miss out. Goldie is in training at the moment, but Dog is an amazing character.

"I never knew that a human being and a duck could bond as great friends. They are more friends than pets.” Mark’s family and friends have dubbed him a “mad duck man” after his love for his companions grew.

He even allows his pets to follow him into the toilets at the pub. "I just take them with me," he said. "I put them behind me and say, 'Duck on the floor' and people say, 'I've seen it all now, mate'."
