At the time her blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit.<\/p>\n<p>Three months ago the 50-year-old pleaded guilty to the counts against her, including one count of DUI manslaughter. Mr Lasseter was stopped at a red light in Florida, US at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Police said her blood alcohol level was over three times the legal limit. She has been behind bars since March 2022 with court rulings labelling her as a &quot;danger to society&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>Today, she was handed a 10-and-a-half-year sentence for driving with a suspended license causing death and another seven years for DUI manslaughter. Sytch broke down crying as she addressed the victim&apos;s family.<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cI know my words are not enough but please know that I think about you every day. I have done something horrible, but I am so much more than the worst that I have done. I try and think about the good I have done because when I sit alone and think about what I did to the Lasser family that tragic day, from a stupid decision, I feel the regret and remorse deep inside my soul.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know they don&apos;t get to rest knowing he is gone. When I was 20, I lost my father as well to heart disease and just last August, my 87-year-old mother passed away while I have been incarcerated. She served 114 days in jail in Connecticut in 2013 after being arrested for assaulting her boyfriend and then violating parole conditions.<\/p>\n<p>During that first spell in jail, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer and treated while in prison. In 2019, a bench warrant was issued for her in February that year and she was arrested in New Jersey later that month.
