A seaside town is desperate for boy racers to stop recklessly using their roads at night.<\/p>\n
Idyllic Eastbourne in Sussex is known as a quaint retirement hub for Brits hoping for a quiet life on the south coast, but ruining the peace for many is the screeching tyres of speedsters \u2013 a<\/span>nd locals are sick of it.<\/p>\n The picturesque area is a hotspot for motoring enthusiasts who take both current and future classics along the back roads. To tackle the interferences, Eastbourne Borough Council and Sussex Police decided to make changes by implementing a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Those caught breaking the PSPO can be given a fixed penalty notice of \u00a3100 or a fine of up to \u00a31,000. It covers major routes around Eastbourne, including around Beachy Head, the seafront and Lottbridge Drove.<\/p>\n Speaking to BournefreeLive, Inspector Sarah Taylor said: \u201cWe are delighted that EBC has obtained a PSPO for anti-social driving in the town, as we are aware this is an issue having a large detrimental effect on residents.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cIt is one of our key priorities and we fully understand the frustration and disruption it causes to our communities.
