A British danger tourist has shared more images and details of his time being held captive by the Taliban.

Miles Routledge, a former uni student from Birmingham, styled himself as an explorer and journalist and set off to visit locations in turmoil like Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Pakistan and several visits to Afghanistan. Earlier this year, a trip to Afghanistan went wrong when he was captured by the Taliban for over four months.

Despite claiming to be pals with the group, he was held captive. Routledge identifies as a devout Christian.

He wasn’t heard from for four months until a supposed friend logged onto his Twitter and posted an update. They said: "He's treated very well, has several servants, loads of movies on his laptop, goes on picnics and has tea with the Taliban cabinet gov. He still loves Afghanistan.”

They added: "He speaks like he's on holiday. He's sunbathing, playing TF2, writing his 2nd book, reading T.E Lawrence, exercising, has chocolates and cake etc. He’s made friends with the Taliban he’s with, he says he’s been invited to some weddings.

"From what we've heard, he's having fun and the Taliban are very kind and fair. Lord Miles will have excellent, positive stories to tell upon returning home, stating 'I haven’t been this relaxed in years, lovely to get away from it all’."

They then promised he would be available in a few months. Now, following on from his return, he has shared some updates on Twitter about what happened during his absence.

Miles posted a photo of him in a bedroom with an open window. A person could be seen poking through the window making a face, which Routledge circled for his followers to see.

The post was captioned: “When in Taliban Custody, the servants in the guest house would try to jump scare us through the window but every once in a while I would catch them on my crappy webcam and take a soy face selfie. They were cool dudes.”

Another post showed Routledge smiling with Taliban soldiers holding guns, he wrote “8 months in Taliban Intelligence “custody”, best adventure I’ve had yet! All the previous tweets are true. Best mates with many top commanders after numerous picnics, lovely lads treated me as a guest! I will be returning to Kabul next month.”

Miles told followers he hopes to gain visas to do a road trip from the UK to Afghanistan on his next adventure.
