which includes eight Spanish islands including Tenerife, Fuerteventura and\u00a0 Gran Canaria &#8211; are located off the African coast and the most southern region of Spain.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The number of cruise passengers passing through the Canary Islands ports between January and September 2023 exceeded by 86.9% the figures registered in the same period of 2022, with an astonishing 1.5 million passengers on 706 ships.<\/p>\n<p>The ongoing tourism boom for the Canaries is great news for the wider economy according to its government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2022, the Canary Islands topped the charts in terms of tourism revenue in Spain,&#8221; declared Jessica de Le\u00f3n, the Minister of Tourism for the Canary Islands Government, during a session at the regional Parliament, reports Canarian Weekly.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She went on to highlight that the outlook for the forthcoming winter season is &#8220;very positive,&#8221;
