Ukrainian cruise missiles severely damaged a state-of-the-art Russian stealth warship, new photo and video evidence shows.<\/p>\n
An image released by Ukraine\u2019s government indicated that the 220-foot missile corvette Askold – one of Russia’s newest ships.<\/p>\n
In addition, an unconfirmed video appears to show the moment the three Storm Shadow or SCALP cruise missiles launched from Ukrainian Su-24 bombers impacted on the target erupting into a fiery explosion.<\/p>\n
Ukraine\u2019s strategic communications directorate said: \u201cConfirmed. The Russian missile carrier \u2018Askold\u2019 – the newest ship of the \u2018Karakurt\u2019 project with \u2018stealth\u2019 technology was damaged due to the damage of the naval and port infrastructure of the \u2018Zaliv\u2019 plant in the temporarily occupied Crimea.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Askold is just the latest victim in Russia\u2019s Black Sea Fleet which Ukraine\u2019s longer-range surface-to-air missiles have hammered.<\/p>\n
