Thinking of booking a winter mini-break? One of Europe\u2019s best winter holiday destinations is also one of its most walkable.<\/p>\n

The expert team at Preply looked at cities in Europe to see which were the most walkable. Cologne, one of Germany\u2019s top destinations, landed in the top 10.<\/p>\n

According to the team\u2019s research, there\u2019s under 2.5 miles between each of Cologne\u2019s top attractions and it takes under 50 minutes to walk between each.<\/p>\n

While the German city is a pretty destination to explore at any time of year, it\u2019s exceptionally atmospheric during the Christmas season.<\/p>\n

Cologne has a range of Christmas markets including the popular Market of Hearts around the Cathedral.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Market of Angels at Neumarkt near Cologne\u2019s main shopping streets, is an incredible Christmas wonderland.<\/p>\n

At Heinzels Winter Fairytale, holidaymakers can take to the ice on the city\u2019s spectacular ice-rink.<\/p>\n

The festive season is expected to kick off around November 20 with many of the markets open until December 23.<\/p>\n
