Notorious ex-London gangster Dave Courtney tragically took his own life with a firearm today (Sunday, October 22).<\/p>\n
Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to his home, also known \u2018Camelot Castle\u2019, in the early hours of this morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
The 64-year-old converted the former school into a white mansion and decked it out with guns, swords, suits of armour, images of the late Queen, and a bust of his own head. <\/p>\n

It also boasts a nightclub and a sex dungeon \u2013 where adult films were shot. Courtney, who led a wild life, previously admitted he had starred in a porn film and his wife found out on their wedding night.<\/p>\n
During an interview on the Eventful Entrepreneur podcast, Courtney joked about how he wanted to become a sex symbol, leading him to star in the X-rated production. The plans were set in motion after becoming friendly with the producer while working in security.<\/p>\n
He said at the time: \u201cI was going, \u2018Wow man, I\u2019d love to make a blue scene\u2019. He went, \u2018You want to make a blue film man? It\u2019s the easiest f***ing thing in the world; Go over there and get an aids test, and in 45 minutes you can come back here and you\u2019ll be s******g whatever bird you want for the next hour and a half.\u201d<\/p>\n

He agreed after being promised the movie would only appear on hotel porn channels, so no one he knew would see it. Until his honeymoon, in a hotel, when his wife saw it.<\/p>\n
The pair had eloped spontaneously in the US and happened to stay in the hotel chain that the movie had been sold to.<\/p>\n
Mr Courtney added: \u201cI\u2019ve been married for six hours, she\u2019s put on the porn channel \u2013 you can laugh \u2013 and all of a sudden it went, \u2018Dave Courtney English gangster in\u2026\u2019 And I\u2019m trying to dive on to the bed to grab the television control, but the bed\u2019s too big, and it\u2019s a water bed so it\u2019s vibrating.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd there it is, me, in a blue film on my wedding night in the hotel.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Courtney, who was born in Bermondsey but lived in Plumstead, was a member of the Richardson Gang. He has written six books about his delinquent past and was reportedly the inspiration behind Vinnie Jones' character Big Chris in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.<\/p>\n
The self-proclaimed ex-gangster had been shot, stabbed, had his nose bitten off then reattached, and killed to stay alive, according to his website.<\/p>\n
Alongside his title of \u201cthe hardest man in Britain\u201d, he was also known as the \u201cyellow pages of the Underworld\u201d.<\/p>\n
