Russian forces have a new deadly "invisible" fighter jet among their ranks, with Kremlin-backed media claiming it has "super manoeuvrability."

The Su-57, which has been in the hands of Vladimir Putin's troops for several years, was first spotted around 500km from the border with Ukraine in December. But despite Russian officials hyping it up, the deadly jet has yet to be used.

"These fighters currently fly on modified AL-41 engines, and we are waiting for deliveries of new engines to begin. Now they are being tested in flying laboratories, and are undergoing factory bench tests and certification, but we haven’t put these engines into production yet, therefore we are in no hurry to commission large numbers of Su-57s now – as they say, don't tear your navel.

"The speed of sound will be accelerated absolutely only at the expense of 'maximum', that is, in economy mode. The main thing for us is that the aircraft has a high degree of manoeuvrability, with foreign experts even talking about the super-manoeuvrability of the Su-57."
