A gun-obsessed Brit who had his own “revenge” hit list of enemies has been found guilty of plotting a mass shooting.

Gunman Reed Wischhusen, 32, who is fascinated by mass shootings and infamous killers, is facing jail after being found guilty of a string of weapons, ammunition and explosives charges by a jury at Bristol Crown Court today (October 13). The Somerset-native made a list of those who he thought had “wronged” him in the past, and was planning to attack them, although he claims it was made as “a psychological release”.

“I got power over them by writing it down,” he said when questioned by Adam Vaitilingam KC in court. He clarified that he didn't intended on hurting anyway, but the jury found him guilty.

During a week-long trial, it was heard how the man, a former Lidl warehouse worker, was fascinated by mass killings such as the Dunblane massacre in 1996, and wanted to carry out an attack of his own. Wischhusen was also found with drawings of how to build a rocket launcher, but gave up on the idea when he realised he could never actually build it.

And when police raided his house in 2022, Wischhusen tried to kill himself using a pistol in his bathroom, and then ran at armed police with the gun. They shot him three times, leading to an extended stay in hospital, before officers interviewed him in March.
