A woman trapped in a nightclub engulfed by flames left a heart-breaking voice message for her family, and is still missing.

At least 13 people were killed in a blaze which broke out in the Spanish nightclubs, with three buildings caught in the fires. Teatre and Fonda Milagros were two of the cities caught in the horror flames in south-eastern Spain on Sunday morning.

Jairo, a father of one of the victims, says his 28-year-old daughter was inside one of the clubs, leaving her last words with her mother over the phone. She has yet to be confirmed dead or alive with rescue work ongoing.

Her recording was left to her mum, with the crying woman heard saying: "Mum, I love you, we’re going to die, I love you mum." The chilling voice note has been followed by complete silence, and no update on Jairo's daughter is yet available.

Authorities are still attempting to figure out the cause of the fire which has so far claimed the lives of 13 people. Official statements from the national police force confirmed the clubs were originally part of the same building.

Diego Seral said: "The fire spread from the upper parts of the two clubs, the Teatra disco and the Fonda Milagros disco … which originally were in the same building." A total of 15 missing people were later confirmed by police.

The list, which did not contain names, does contain the names of some individuals who were since confirmed found, news.com.au reported. One survivor has since spoken out on their horror experience, saying the lights went out and screams soon followed.

They said: "I think we left 30 seconds to one minute before the alarms went off and all the lights went out (and) the screams saying there was a fire. Five family members and two friends are missing."

Emergency services confirmed they would continue working the scene in the hopes of "finding more victims" while Jose Ballesta, Murcia mayor, said a complicated task lies ahead.

He confirmed "there are still bodies to be pulled out" though the remains of the building was at "risk of collapse". Four people were injured, two women aged 22 and 25, as well as two men in their forties, from smoke inhalation.

More than 40 firefighters and 12 emergency vehicles were on hand immediately after the fire, with three days of mourning set to take place and a reception base for family members of the deceased set up to support them.
