Aurora police are investigating a woman’s death in the 1200 block of South Dillon Way on Friday as a homicide after initial reports that she died as a result of suicide.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to reports of a suicide of a 51-year-old woman in the Sable Ridge neighborhood at 8:50 a.m. Friday after a person called 911 to report finding the woman in the garage with apparent strangulation wounds, according to the Aurora Police Department.<\/p>\n
Responding officers thought the scene was suspicious and requested homicide detectives and the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office to respond to the incident, according to a department news release.<\/p>\n
After an autopsy on Monday, the coroner’s office ruled the woman’s death a homicide.<\/p>\n
The woman’s identity will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s office.<\/p>\n
