    Two children have been rushed to hospital after the roof was ripped off a bus in a horror Essex crash.<\/p>\n

    The vehicle collided with a tree branch in Clavering, near Bishop's Stortford, at about 8.15am this morning (Thursday, September 21). The scene was attended by three ambulances, an air ambulance and fire crews, among other emergency responders.<\/p>\n

    Three children were checked over at the scene and two were taken to Addenbrookes Hospital, according to the ambulance service. Their injuries are thought to be minor.<\/p>\n

    Essex County Fire and Rescue Service confirmed a car and a bus had been involved in the collision, but that nobody had become trapped in either of the vehicles.<\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    "The bus had also collided with a tree branch causing extensive damage to the roof," it said. "Nobody was trapped in either vehicle and firefighters worked alongside partners to make the scene safe by 9am."<\/p>\n

    Essex Police advised drivers to avoid Clatterbury Lane, where the collision took place, and the surrounding area.<\/p>\n

    A spokesperson said: "At the scene officers found a bus and a car had collided. We have closed the road while we and emergency service colleagues from the fire and ambulance services carry out their work at the scene.<\/p>\n

    "Drivers are advised to check before they travel and plan accordingly if their journey is affected."<\/p>\n
