A police officer who shot to fame after a video emerged of her lap-dancing on a married colleague has taken to Instagram to share some more racy snaps.

Vera Mekuli also appeared grappling with a lizard on her recent visit to the beaches close to New York City.

NYPD rookie Mekuli first made headlines in 2021 when she was videoed grinding on married Lt. Nick McGarry at the 44th Precinct’s annual Christmas bash.

NYPD chiefs ordered that McGarry be transferred to the Transit Bureau. Mekuli later apologised and claimed she did not know McGarry was married.

Mekuli is still a cop but spends her free time sharing racy snaps on Instagram where she has amassed nearly 40,000 followers off the back of the lap dance incident.

She appeared to have some time off last week and decided to spend it at the beach.

Mekuli shared a couple of bikini-clad snaps as well as a video of her holding a huge lizard by its tail. She captioned the post: "Lets get lost."

Reacting in the comments section, one person said: "Made friends with baby Godzilla."

Another follower wrote: "You go girl!!". While a third said: "Your just perfect [sic]." Others left streams of fire emojis.

It comes after Mekuli shot some online trolls down with a quick-witted six-word reply.

Earlier this year she shared a selfie on Instagram revealing she had dyed her hair red. She wrote in the caption: "Leave em on red."

Despite most fans complimenting the look, two took aim at the cop. "Filtered AF," wrote one bloke, emboldening another hater who chimed in with: "Lol right? All these comments talking about [fire emojis] lol."

Mekuli hit back: "Yet you both still follow me."
