{"id":118882,"date":"2023-09-13T19:20:46","date_gmt":"2023-09-13T19:20:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cottontailsonline.com\/?p=118882"},"modified":"2023-09-13T19:20:46","modified_gmt":"2023-09-13T19:20:46","slug":"body-found-in-german-river-is-not-missing-ben-needham-after-mums-anxious-fear","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cottontailsonline.com\/world-news\/body-found-in-german-river-is-not-missing-ben-needham-after-mums-anxious-fear\/","title":{"rendered":"Body found in German river is not missing Ben Needham after mums anxious fear"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A body found near a river in Germany is not that of missing Brtitish boy Ben Needham.<\/p>\n<p>Ben was 21-months-old when he disappeared from outside his grandparents home on the Greek island of Kos in July 1991.<\/p>\n<p>Despite a string of searches and investigations, no trace of him has ever been found and South Yorkshire Police have maintained their opinion that Ben died on the day that he vanished in an accident with a digger.<\/p>\n<p><b>READ MORE: Satanic nun drag queen arrested for &apos;playing with himself&apos; in broad daylight<\/b><\/p>\n<p>However, his family continue to dispute the theory without any evidence to support it.<\/p>\n<p>Hopes were raised recently after German police found the remains of a boy in the River Danube, as local police were convinced the boy was not German.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30935455.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/1_Ben-Needham-missing.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>But this week South Yorkshire Police confirmed that the DNA was not that of Ben&apos;s, despite his DNA being sent for comparison, The Mirror reports.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesman said: \u201cSouth Yorkshire Police, supported by Interpol, has received confirmation that a DNA sample of the body found in the River Danube in Germany does not match that of Ben Needham.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBen\u2019s family has been informed and are being supported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur thoughts remain with the young boy who is yet to be identified and, of course, the Needham family who continue in their search for answers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And speaking to The Mirror, mum Kerry said that the news of a confirmation either was a \u201crelief\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30935459.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_JS310844558.jpg\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<figure data-mod=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30900301.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s458\/0_bfds1.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p> &apos;Weird&apos; Daniel Khalife &apos;flaunted \u00a320,000 bank balance to girls in Wetherspoons&apos;<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/@trinitymirrordigital\/chameleon-branding\/publications\/dailystar\/img\/logo-schema-dailystar.png\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>She explained: \u201cI actually was physically sick when I heard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was all that pent up anxiety.
