An out-of-state bagel shop has some news from Denver to phone home back east.<\/p>\n
Call Your Mother Deli, founded in Washington, D.C. in 2018, plans to open in the Hilltop neighborhood at 217 S. Holly St., according to the property\u2019s owner.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s the third spot Call Your Mother has leased in Denver. The company opened in May at 3880 Tennyson St. in Berkeley, and has another location in Cap Hill at 1291 Pearl St.\u00a0in the works.<\/p>\n
The Hilltop property is owned by The Robert L. Naiman Co. Leasing Director Nikki Naiman said the company\u00a0 reached out to Call Your Mother to see if the shop wanted to open in the space previously occupied by The Rotary, which\u00a0closed in May.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had been looking for a new tenant \u2026 and we honestly just tried their (Call Your Mother\u2019s) Tennyson location and thought it was really really good,\u201d Naiman said.<\/p>\n
She said the bagel shop\u2019s space, located next to High Point Creamery and Park Burger, is 1,474 square feet. She did not know Call Your Mother\u2019s timeline for opening.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe thought it\u2019d complement the center well because it has ice cream and dinner but no breakfast,\u201d Naiman said.<\/p>\n
Call Your Mother did not respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n
Founded by husband-and-wife Andrew Dana and\u00a0Daniela Moreira, the \u201cJew-ish\u201d deli has about 10 locations in D.C., Virginia and Maryland, according to its website.<\/p>\n
The shop combines New York and Montreal bagel styles, incorporating honey in the dough. Its bagel sandwiches, like The Mountain View (egg, latke, cheese and avocado on a plain bagel), range from $6 to $13. Individual bagels cost $1.50.<\/p>\n
Denver-based Robert L. Naiman Co. owns roughly 30 properties around Denver, with tenants like Birdcall, Fruition, Huckleberry Roasters and Native Roots.<\/p>\n
