Mablethorpe beach in Lincolnshire, known for its golden sands, donkey rides, local chip shops and fairground, has been named one of the best in England.<\/p>\n
The beautiful seaside holiday resort recently won a Blue Flag Award from the charity, Keep Britain Tidy, according to GrimsbyLive.<\/p>\n
The popular beach destination won the prized status alongside close neighbours Sutton on Sea and Skegness.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, Mablethorphe alongside Sutton on Sea and Skegness, were announced as the three winners in the East Midlands category of a Blue Flag Award for safety and services, environmental information, water quality and environmental management.<\/p>\n
The Blue Flag Award is one of the world\u2019s most recognised voluntary awards for beaches, marinas and tourism boats.<\/p>\n
READ MORE: <\/strong> ‘Beautiful’ seaside town is best holiday staycation destination<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In the UK, there are 77 Blue Flag beaches in England and one marina, according to Keep Britain Tidy.<\/p>\n Car rental company, SIXT, described Mablethorpe beach as \u201cpicturesque\u201d with \u201cmiles of golden sand\u201d.<\/p>\n SIXT judged the seaside resorts according to visitors\u2019 reactions on Tripadvisor, data on the number of cafes available, the quality of the beach and nearby toilet facilities.<\/p>\n Tripadvisor user Charlurr said the beach was \u201cstunning\u201d. There were also little estuaries leading to the sea which were perfect for the little \u2018un to play in!\u201d<\/p>\n Another Tripadvisor user, lynnette5, said the beach was \u201cbeautiful\u201d and had a \u201cgreat cafe on the front\u201d which served breakfasts and other items.<\/p>\n The town itself doesn\u2019t have a lot of parking for seaside visitors, however, some visitors didn\u2019t experience this.<\/p>\n Tripadvisor user Michael B said on the site: \u201cOn arrival, good on-beach parking. The beach itself was long and golden [and] in perfect condition, clean no rubbish around.<\/p>\n \u201cPlaces to eat drink by the sea, amusements, rides and a small park with water play areas.<\/p>\n \u201cThe town itself was clean tidy and busy.
