Abandoned by authorities, widows cry for help after losing husbands in Rngain landslide

That day he went to drop his daughter to Mawsynram While returning home the landslide happened We came to know about it at around 8pm in the evening People around got the news before we could because they couldn't reach us on our phones Eventually we all went there When I heard the news I went there with my son There was a huge traffic jam I started walking I was totally disoriented When I reached there I saw the massive landslide I said to my mother “He’s not going to make it” When we reached there village elders asked the ladies to leave They told us to wait for the news from home Being there is not adviceable, we might faint That day he didn’t call the entire day since my phone was not working But before leaving he came and spoke to his son but this one cried wanting to go with him He said that it's too far to take him along He said 'stay home son, I will come back for you' My son cried So he just left My uncle asked where my husband is and I told him he reached Laitlyngkot After a short while he said ‘I have bad news’ I fainted when I heard the news Was that the last time you spoke to him? I called him that time and he said he reached Laitlyngkot I asked him to bring milk for the kids and he said yes He hung up the phone It’s going to be a big challenge now How will I send my 4 kids to school now? How will I feed them? They dug the soil from beneath and the big boulders are at the top We were told that the company have already stopped But the contractors continued the work for money They knew about it few days before the incident but never informed the public They have already removed the machines everything was cleared when we went there from big machines and JCBs They knew it before hand They shifted to avoid the landslide Even Bangladesh-bound trucks dissapeared from the scene They all stopped plying because they were scared of the area Which means they already knew about this? Yes but they didn’t caution the public plying through that road Had that not been the case then how could there be landslide without rain and storm We only had our neighbors with us all this while There was nobody else What about the MLA? No, nobody noticed I request the authorities to lend me support I have four children I’m a housewife depending on my husband for everything I appeal to the authorities to lend me some support Without him, we’re left with nothing. How do I send my son to school? I have to depend on my mother now with whatever she has We’re poor and uneducated There should be development to benefit the people it will enhance trade and commerce But how could they work without any knowledge while people are still going up and down And when such incident happens what will you say? Fate? It was careless work only to benefit oneself If you have to work then keep specific timings when people don’t commute I request them to make it properly With the monsoon coming in, it will be even more dangerous Concerned authorities shoul take care so that such incident will not repeat
