Urgent search for heavily pregnant girl, 17, after she disappeared from home

A search has been launched for a "heavily pregnant" teenager who vanished in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police have launched an urgent missing persons search for Codi-Jayne Picking who was last seen leaving a property in Durrington, Wiltshire.

The 17-year-old who left wearing black leggings, a black vest top, and a black fluffy cardigan, has been told by Wiltshire Police to let someone know she is safe.

In a statement, the force said it shares Codi-Jayne's family's "concerns for her welfare" and has issued a plea to the public to call Wiltshire Police with any information that could help to find her.

Codi-Jayne, who calls herself Codi-Jayne Berridge on Facebook, has been described as white, around 5ft 6ins tall, with light brown/blonde hair.

In a statement released today, Wiltshire Police said: "Concerns are growing for her welfare and we would urge anyone who has seen her this morning or who has any information about where she is, to please call us.

"Codi-Jayne, if you see this appeal, please call someone to let them know you are safe.

"Anyone with information should call 101/999 quoting log 47 of today (24/08)."

As news of the appeal quickly went viral, dozens of people shared it and posted their hopes that the teenager was found safe and well.

One wrote: "Beautiful girl, go home or to a safe place."

Another said: "Sending love. Hope she comes home soon."
