Yet another high-profile Russian military expert has warned that Britain will be reduced to a nuclear wasteland.
Lieutenant-General Evgeny Buzhinsky has said that Britain will “physically cease to exist” if tensions over Lithuania triggers a nuclear Third World War,
Nikolai Patrushev, a close ally to Vladimir Putin, has threatened “serious consequences” if Lithuania continues to block the movement of good into the strategically important Russian enclave of Kaliningrad.

While he did not specify what these consequences might be, many observers suspect that Putin is planning military action against Lithuania – which is protected by its membership of both the EU and NATO.
Buzhinsky lashed out at British general Sir Patrick Sanders, who has already warned the British Army to prepare for a land war with Russia.
“He doesn’t understand that as a result of the Third World War Britain will physically cease to exist,” Buzhinsky said.
“The island will vanish, so I’ve no idea where he or his descendants will live.”
He urged Vladimir Putin to respond immediately by sending nuclear weapons to Kaliningrad, the only Russian port on the Baltic Sea to be ice-free year-round and a hugely important naval asset.
“This is a long game to push us out from the Baltic Sea, an attempt to block and cut Kaliningrad off, and finally to take it away from us,” Buzhinsky claimed.
He says the West intends to “block Kaliningrad economically, completely, until our people howl from destitution”.

Buzhinsky, who served in senior positions in the Russian defence ministry, said that Russia needed to take “decisive steps” and while that began with diplomacy but would not necessarily end there.
Putin should “disavow the 1991 recognition of Lithuania, disavow the agreement with the EU on Lithuania, including on their borders, then switch Lithuania off from energy.”
“And then finally we must take military measures,” he said.

He urged the Kremlin to take control of the so-called Suvalkovsky corridor – the supply route across Lithuania from Russian ally Belarus.
“We need to demonstratively move nuclear weapons to Kaliningrad, our Iskanders,” he told pro-Putin TV anchor Yevgeny Popov on Rossiya 1 channel.
Iskander missiles are currently based in Kaliningrad but without nuclear warheads, he said.
“We’ve got to do something. We’ve got to strengthen our military presence at the border with Lithuania as we did in December last year, and January this year at the border with Ukraine.”
Russia should tell the Americans “first via confidential channels, that they are playing with fire.".
Putin in 'impossible position' in Ukraine after devastating Russian losses
“You guys will actually play to the point that Russia won’t stop, because this is a threat to our national security, an attempt on our sovereign territory.” Buzhinsky warned, adding: “The world will feel it. Ukrainian grain will seem like a joke compared to our decisive steps.”
Asked if this meant war with NATO, he replied: “Yes – what else do we do? Otherwise they’ll simply strangle us…”
Britain has been singled out numerous times by Putin’s propagandists who have gleefully discussed on Russian state TV how the UK could be turned into a “radioactive desert” in a single nuclear strike.
Putin’s propaganda mouthpiece Dmitry Kiselyov described how two Russian super-weapons each had the capability to wipe the British Isles off the map.
Russia could obliterate the UK with its new hypersonic Satan-2 missile, he said.
Alternatively, Kiselyov boasted, Russia has the option to “plunge Britain into the depths of the sea” with its “underwater robotic drone Poseidon”.
This would “raise a giant wave, a tsunami, up to 500 metres [1,640ft] high”, he told viewers on his Vesti Nedeli talkshow.
The surging water – reaching almost halfway up Scafell Pike in the English Lake District – would contain “high doses of radiation”, turning what is left of Britain into a “radioactive desert”, he predicted.
Putin propagandist threatens Russia will turn Ukraine into huge 'nuclear crater'
Another of Vladimir Putin’s closest sidekicks claimed Russian troops will advance across Europe “until they reach Stonehenge”.
Vladimir Solovyov – dubbed “Putin’s Voice” – regularly makes outlandish threats against the UK on his weekly TV show, including claiming Zircon nuclear missiles would “bomb Britain back to the Stone Age”.
Meanwhile, responding to a speech by former Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, top Russian politician Vyacheslav Volodin has warned that parts of Europe could “disappear” in a nuclear strike.
It’s been going on for a while. In 2017, Vladimir Putin's former aide, retired colonel Frants Klintsevich issued a shocking warning that the UK would be wiped off the face of the Earth in a nuclear exchange.
