UK escort on sex work reality– held hostage with cricket bat and ‘sad stories’

A UK escort has lifted the lid on the realities of sex work – from sick requests to violent assaults.

Sex worker Victoria Holcombe says that she has been assaulted, abused and held hostage in the past – but insists that most of her clients are decent people.

After the 40-year-old was assaulted during two separate bookings within months of one another, she has called for urgent changes to the law. She's now pushing for escorts to be allowed to work in pairs for their safety.

The mum-of-two told BirminghamLive the work can see her "surrounded by f***ing ****holes". In May, she was 'held hostage with a cricket bat' inside her own home, and only months before, in September, she was 'dragged' down a city centre road with her arm stuck in a car window.

But she says 99% of her clients are nice – and have stories "so sad", she sometimes leaves bookings in tears. "I've left clients' houses crying because I felt so sorry for them," she said.

"Because they're in situations, they get their two hours worth and that's it. One guy is looking after his mum, he's not a very good looking guy and all the local kids chuck stones at him when he goes to get his mum's shopping.

"You've got another one, he was in a car accident and he's got the same injuries as a stroke. Some of these stories you see are so sad."

She says she has also been approached by sex offenders, adding. "Then you get the paedophiles that ring you up…”

She had been working independently but now says she's going back to work for an agency so they can "filter through" calls. "I can't take the mental anymore to be honest," she explained.

Victoria has been injured in two separate attacks while working as an escort in the past year.

As Amsterdam clamps down on 'nuisance' tourists, she fears UK sex workers – of which there are 80,000 – will be inundated with rowdy tourists warned to 'stay away' from the notorious red light district.

The tourist hotspot, which introduced a public weed ban last week, has plans to remove 100 brothel windows after previously imposing an earlier closing time for the sex workers.

"They're going to be coming to me aren't they," she stated. "There's other countries saying they don't want us either. We're going to have a big ban."

Amid fears for the safety of sex workers here in the UK, Victoria says she wants to take her case to the High Court in a bid to see the law changed to allow escorts to work in pairs, like they can in Amsterdam. "If we're having Amsterdam's traffic, we need to accommodate for that," she said.
