Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg sees broadcast hijacked by adult site live on air

Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg saw his live broadcast during the Conservative Party conference descend into chaos after it was “hijacked” by an adult dating site.

The Eton-educated politician was answering questions during a recording for The Telegraph when the chat box suddenly became flooded with messages promising “the best adult dating site” from a user named “chat-69”.

It became so distracting that aides were forced to block anybody who wasn’t a subscriber from asking questions.

The disaster has sparked hilarity on Twitter, with thousands flocking to poke fun at the 53-year-old.

One person wrote: “They'll try anything to improve their election chances” whilst another quipped it was a “new fundraising strategy”.

A third pointed out that at least it will “lead to improvements in their cyber security” with another dramatic user claiming “people will be scarred for life”.

Despite the incident leaving Rees-Mogg red-faced, it’s likely to be the least of his worries after his boss Liz Truss was ridiculed for an economic policy that saw the pound plummet.

Prime Minister Truss and Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng were jeered and booed at the Birmingham conference and faced ridicule from economic experts before they pulled a humiliating U-turn on the 45p tax rate scrap.

Truss saw herself compared to Austin Powers, the ditsy character played by Mike Myers in the titular comedy movies, with a scene of the main character trying to "u-turn" a vehicle in a narrow corridor being used to mock the decision.

Whilst Kwarteng was given the moniker Kamikwasi, a reference to Japanese WWII pilots who made deliberate suicidal crashes into enemy targets.
