Shopworker in ‘blind rage’ smashes wine bottles off shelves when boss fires her

A woman was filmed smashing dozens of bottles of wine in a supermarket in "blind rage" after she was fired by her boss.

Evelin Roldán , 25, showed up for work at the Apolo Supermarket in Rafaela, Argentina on Monday (June 13) only to be told that she was no longer needed for work.

In the video shared widely on social media, Evelin seems to have lost her temper and swipes the wine bottles off the shelves on the shop floor.

She screams in anger while standing in a pool of red wine and shattered glasses.

The former employee defended her actions and explained she vandalised the supermarket due to "cruel treatment" from her bosses during the course of her employment.

She also claimed the video, which is about eight seconds long, did not reveal everything.

"I was blinded by anger, anger at the injustices that I experienced inside, swallowing the mistreatment, the challenges, the rejection and even the insults for not having lost my job," Evelin told local media La Tecla.

"I hope to be able to have a place to tell the other side of the conflict, as they did when they sent videos and incomplete information, pretending to be totally unaware of what happened.

"For now, I wanted the people who saw the video and gave their opinion without knowing to know that there are many things behind such a big nervous breakdown."

Evelin was later arrested by the police.

But she has vowed to seek legal actions against her ex-employers.

"I was a good employee, respectful, always available because from cleaning floors to cutting cold cuts or serving a box I did it with great enthusiasm," she added.
