Prince Harry ‘panics about toning down certain anecdotes’ in memoir

Much speculation has surrounded the elusive release of Prince Harry's tell-all memoir, previously set to be released in Autumn after a series of delays.

But last week it was announced the publication of the biography has been pushed back yet again as the Prince struggles with mounting pressures from all sides.

An insider, speaking to heat world, said the delay is due to the Duke making last-minute changes as struggles to bridge tensions between the demands of his wife, Meghan, and keeping the peace with his family across the pond.

"Harry is struggling with the pressure and keeps changing his mind on what to include in the book," the insider said.

"Every passage is being revised again and again. Harry keeps remembering new things he wants to include, and then suddenly panics about toning down certain anecdotes.

"It’s been going on like this for months, and with the print date looming, he has to make a decision to officially put it on hold or pull the trigger and hope for the best."

The delay was confirmed when the Prince's publisher, Penguin Random House, released its upcoming books list, which didn't feature the upcoming tell-all publication.

Speaking about the unfinished book last summer, Harry said: "I’m writing this not as the prince I was born, but as the man I have become."

However, it's now clear that the book will likely create deeper divisions with the Firm.

"Harry knows there will be a huge fallout once this memoir finally hits the shelves," the insider said.

"Meghan is urging him to tell his truth and not hide what really happened, but he’s worried sick it will lead to a new war with the royals – one he’ll never be able to come back from. He feels caught between a rock and a hard place, which is why he keeps stalling on edits."

The couple has previously been open with the issues they faced while still active members of the Royal Family.

Their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey following their departure from the Firm sent shock waves through the palace and the British public alike, and the pair also confessed last year to contributing to Finding Freedom, the 'unofficial' biography about their departure from the family.

However the pair have been noticeably less outspoken since they returned to the UK for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The insider continued: "He’s still shocked at the very mixed reception he and Meghan received at the Jubilee.

"The Queen and Prince Charles were cordial, but there was a portion of the monarchy whose reception was decidedly lukewarm. Harry knows these are the people who’ll be reading his book and looking for any reason to criticise."
