New Days King Woods hails incredible Usos as his favourite ever WWE rivalry

The New Day’s Xavier ‘King’ Woods says long-time foes The Usos will go down as the group’s greatest ever WWE rivals.

Woods, currently the reigning men’s King of the Ring after a win over Finn Balor at Crown Jewel, is one third of the legendary trio.

Recently hailed by WWE as their greatest tag team of all time, The New Day have won multiple tag team titles, while Big E is the WWE Champion – a title also previously held by Kofi Kingston.

Whilst they have enjoyed incredible careers to-date, collectively and individually, there appears to be one of their tag team rivalries that stands above them all.

For years, The New Day battled The Usos, warring with Jimmy and Jey over various tag team championships and wowing fans with a series of incredible moments and matches.

As the teams each moved on to other things as teams and in singles competition, that rivalry faded – only to be renewed in the build up to this year’s Survivor Series.

With Big E set to clash with The Usos’ Bloodline brethren and Universal champ Roman Reigns at the event, memories of past clashes have come flooding back.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, Woods admitted that their rivalry is his favourite – high praise when you consider the huge number of high-calibre teams The New Day have faced.

"I love that,” he said of the history with The Usos. “That's definitely my favourite rivalry that we've had.

"We got to really dig in into it and got to create something.

"Those guys are an absolutely incredible tag team and probably one of our favourite people to wrestle."

The New Day and The Usos haven’t spent much time opposed to one another on WWE screens since 2019.

Recent episodes of SmackDown have finally brought them back together again, with the 35-year-old adding: "It's nice to be able to be able to start butting heads with them again.

"Now, we've both evolved as teams, separately from each other.

"It is interesting to see what will happen and how things will play out now that we have both reached a different level and come back together on SmackDown like we have."

WWE Survivor Series airs in the UK on WWE Network and BT Sport Box Office on 21 November, while SmackDown airs each Friday night on BT Sport.
