A horrific video has captured the moment a man casually loaded a gun and executed a homeless man from less than a metre away.
The video appears to show the shooter, who has been named as Deshawn Thomas, struggling to load his gun for about 30 seconds while standing behind the man who is sitting on the pavement outside the Globe Building in St. Louis, Missouri.
A loud bang can be heard over the harrowing footage, which was taken on February 27, as Thomas reportedly pulls the trigger.

The homeless man was seen peacefully sitting down, before raising his hands in an apparent act of surrender to the heartless shooter.
The shooting took place outside the former home of the St. Louis Globe-Democrat newspaper, which is now an office and a data centre.
Thomas, who the city’s police have now charged with first degree murder, reportedly fled the scene and was arrested after entering a public library later in the afternoon.
Witnesses say they say Thomas and the as yet unnamed man fighting outside a petrol station further up the street just moments earlier.

One resident said: “This is broad daylight! Have we seen enough?”
Another criticised St. Louis’ leaders for not doing enough to prevent violent crime in the city, saying: “Our elected leaders do NOT have a handle on this."
The Missouri city has one of the highest rates of murder in the United States.
In 2021, there were 200 murders, down from 263 in 2020 but up from 194 in 2019. In 2023, there were already 25 murders in the city.
