Harry floored at how well royals are managing without him and Meghan – expert

A reported delay in Prince Harry’s memoir being released may have been caused by the prince’s surprise at seeing how well the Royal Family have coped in his absence, a royal commentator has claimed.

Harry recently returned to the UK for official royal duties with wife Meghan Markle for the first time since his exit, when he celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee in June with his family.

Since flying back to the US, attention has slowly turned towards news of the Duke of Sussex’s memoir release. The book was announced last year to be published in the Autumn, but no specific date has yet been set for it to be made available to the public.

Speaking on GB News, Angela Levin speculated on why there might be a delay with the prince’s memoir, and suggested that Harry might be having second thoughts about upsetting the royals after his visit for the Jubilee.

“I think the Jubilee showed that he was quite shocked about how he’s so far away from the Royal Family now, and that they are managing very well, and that William and Katherine are getting on very well with Charles and Camilla, which wasn’t always the case,” she claimed.

“I’m not quite sure whether he’s had second thoughts, because not just here in the United Kingdom – which doesn’t matter to him anymore – but in the United States, they're losing their popularity incredibly quickly, and they need the royal titles.”

As a result, the royal commentator claimed that the Duke of Sussex may have mixed feelings about watering down passages of the memoir to make it less critical of the Royal Family.

“So if he’s going to do another attack on the Royal Family and reveal things that are really unpleasant – which might not necessarily be true – he can’t then expect any sort of warmth from them,” Angela explained.

Despite making the trip with Meghan and his children Archie and Lilibet, Harry and his family remained distant from the royals while in the UK, and only attended one official event before allegedly heading back to California early.

Afterwards, the couple released a picture taken of Lilibet at Frogmore Cottage to mark her first birthday, but neither Prince William nor Kate Middleton appeared to be present, and there has been no news of a much-anticipated snap of the Queen meeting her great granddaughter for the first time.
