A leading forensics expert has claimed that Lancashire Police's investigation into missing mum Nicola Bulley is a “mess”.
The 45-year-old mum-of-two was walking her dog when she went missing on Friday, January 27, near the River Wyre in Lancashire.
She had dropped her children off at school that morning before taking the family pup, Willow, on a walk.

Ms Bulley, whose phone was found at the scene of her disappearance and logged into a work conference, is now believed by police to have approached the river.
However, Peter Faulding – who is described as a world-leading confined space rescue and forensic search specialist – has slammed the claims and hit out at the investigation – starting with the way the crime scene was treated.
He told Mail Online: “It should have been sealed off immediately as a potential crime scene.
"That area is critical – critical forensics could have been found in that location.
“Now we've had loads of people trampling around, covering up any tracks.
“I don't know how the police can say there's no evidence of third-party involvement in this disappearance when they haven't actually checked – I think this is a mess, really.
Camera that 'would've seen exactly what happened to Nicola Bulley' was only one broken
“The sonar used by the police is pretty low-tech.
“It's very unlikely they would be able to find a body with it – the divers the police are using are very experienced and professional, but searching that way is a very slow process.
“They are having to swim along in a line, feeling for a body among the weeds, inching down the river bit by bit. They can probably only cover about 100 metres of the river on a good day. Even then, there's an element of luck – divers can miss things in murky water.”
Expert questions if Nicola Bulley evidence was 'left as a decoy' to throw cops off scent
The Daily Star has contacted Lancashire Police for a comment, but they have not released any official statements since Friday (February 3).
The investigation and search continues.
