Coronavirus: Horror moment man removes face mask and appears to SPIT on supermarket fruit

In the footage, the man films himself walking through a supermarket with a face mask on. The man then stops and removes his face mask before bending down and appearing to spit on fresh fruit. Italy is currently under lockdown in a bid to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.  

Earlier this week an Italian doctor gave a chilling insight on what it is like to work at a hospital during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

During an interview with Channel 4 news the doctor, who is based in the Italian town of Cremona, recalled her experiences dealing with patients suffering from coronavirus.

The doctor stated that she is only getting a “few hours” of sleep during the night as she wakes up with “nightmares” every hour. 

The doctor told Channel 4 News: “I go home for a few hours at night and I just collapse on the sofa.

“I’m sleeping but not sleeping because I wake up every hour with nightmares.

“My husband and daughter wait for me at home. They try to talk to me but I can’t even hear them.

“They ask me if I’m listening to them but I can’t.

“That is awful.”

At the time of writing Italy has the 2nd highest amount of COVID-19 cases in the world. 

The nation has more than 35,000 cases in total.

The death toll in Italy is currently just less than 3,000.  

There are currently more than 28,000 active COVID-19 cases within Italy.

Of those, more than 2,200 are in a serious or critical condition at the time of writing.

The whole of Italy has been placed in a mandatory lockdown in a bid to reduce the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

There are currently more than 225,000 COVID-19 cases across the globe.

A total of 176 countries at the time of writing have a confirmed case of COVID-19 coronavirus.
