The mum to a baby who is the spitting image of Boris Johnson is considering giving her son a brand new haircut.

Tatiana Doronina, 36, and baby David, one, first made headlines last year when David was born with the iconic wavy blonde locks sported by the Prime Minister.

The Daily Star reached out to Tatiana after Boris sensationally resigned from "the best job in the world" yesterday.

She revealed that her and husband Ruslan are contemplating a fresh trim for their baby boy, but not because of the association with the outgoing Tory leader, who the Ukrainian family "love".

She said: "He has very very long and thin hair which is not usual for blondes.

"A lot of people, almost everyone, thinks that he’s a girl now.

"They’re like, 'Oh, what a pretty girl', and every time we have to say: 'This is a boy!'"

Tatiana admitted that it will be "painful" to take scissors to David's "very pretty" locks, but fears they may soon grow to be 20cm long.

Previously, the family considered teaming David up with a baby modelling agency. He certainly has a unique look and appears very photogenic on his Instagram page.

However, the story of his likeness to Boris went global last year, leading Tatiana to reconsider.

"I felt a bit bad as I put my baby out there in public. I was scared if it went further, you know, did I have this right?" she said.

"So I decided to take it easy and relax. So we didn’t do modelling, for now.

"I can tell he's good for modelling, because I had a strong modelling past – I was a model myself.

"It’s difficult to put him in a studio, that’s true, but he has a really really pretty smile and he’s really good with pictures. He likes to make poses, actually since he was born."

Tatiana is now thinking about putting David into modelling and joked that maybe Boris could consider the career move since he's out of a job.

Unlike some people, Tatiana – a Ukrainian now living in the UK – wasn't overjoyed with yesterday's news.

"It’s not a secret that Boris is an icon for Ukrainian people right now – we love him," she explained.

"Because he was brave enough to show support for Ukrainians when the world was unsure or scared. He was the first.

"I understood that his position was not stable, we knew about that, and from my side during the lockdown I could see a lot of mistakes that could have been done better.

"But, in the current situation, hopefully he can hold his position until the autumn.

"For us and the world, I think it's important he stays a bit longer as a stable sign of Ukrainian support."

Boris announced he will stand down as Prime Minister yesterday after several Tory MPs resigned due to concerns over his leadership.
