Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts said it will assume management of the Hotel Danieli in Venice in 2025. The hotel is currently in Marriott’s Luxury Collection.
Travel Weekly reported in January that the iconic hotel would join the Four Seasons portfolio, but now Four Seasons has confirmed that the changeover in management will happen in 2025.
The Hotel Danieli will undergo renovations prior to reopening as a Four Seasons, with designer Pierre-Yves Rochon overseeing the work. Four Seasons said Rochon has worked on several other historic Four Seasons properties in Europe, including in Florence, Italy; and Paris, Cap-Ferrat and Megève in France.
During the renovation, the hotel will remain open with select services and amenities available. During this time, property owner Grupo Statuto will manage the hotel under the name Hotel Danieli, Venezia.
When Four Seasons assumes management, the hotel will be called Hotel Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel.
Hotel Danieli is Venice’s oldest operating hotel. Located in the Riva degli Schiavoni region of Venice along the Grand Canal, the hotel is adjacent to Piazza San Marco.
The hotel consists of three buildings: the 14th century Palazzo Dandolo and two 19th century additions linked by bridges — Palazzo Casa Nuova and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior.
“Hotel Danieli is a renowned and historic property in Venice, and we are confident that our partnership with Four Seasons will help usher the hotel into its next chapter, maintaining the standard of quality and excellence that guests have come to expect of the hotel,” Gruppo Statuto owner Giuseppe Statuto said in a statement. “Together with Four Seasons, our properties in Milan and Taormina have seen great success, and Hotel Danieli will perfectly complement these world-class experiences that are unmatched in Italy.”
