Coloradans who are having trouble finding a second dose of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine will have the chance to be vaccinated Thursday at a drive-up clinic at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City.
Centura Health is setting aside 2,500 Moderna doses for patients who need an “orphan” second dose “in an effort to ensue community members can be fully vaccinated and not slip through the cracks,” spokesman Kevin Massey said in a statement Sunday. The clinic is aimed at patients whose initial vaccine provider cannot administer the second dose.
Patients must have received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine before April 2 to be eligible for Thursday’s clinic, Massey said, and should bring their vaccination card from their first dose with them.
“Most vaccine providers do not have the workflow to accommodate orphan second dose vaccinations,” Massey said in the statement.
Patients can register for the second-dose clinic at www.centura.org/vaccine, and should sign up for “Second Dose Only,” the statement said. Patients can also call 720-603-1380 for help scheduling a second dose.
